Imagination to renovate my energy
I had a week filled with creative and visionary people and I just realized it when I sat on the computer to start writing.
In the beginning of the week I was lecturing at Católica-Lisbon University about Creativity as a skill to survive in the 21st century workplaces. Students were happy to hear that becoming creative is about the process itself, instead of the accomplishment of a single event. Most of them were concerned because they defined themselves as rational and business oriented.
So, I asked them to create their own piece of art and to imagine and write a short story about an animal, an emotion and an object.
Today, after spending an intensive weekend behind the computer attending a training myself, my inbox was filled with marvelous tales and personal notes about independent mermaids, sad dolphins, upset elephants, happy giraffes, nature, sustainability and race…
The same students who rated themselves as non-creatives, created deep, beautiful stories to tell to their own kids.
I smiled.
Imagination has made always feel alive. I find beautiful our power to imagine the impossible.
Today, I heard twenty-nine people telling how they imagined the world better.
Again, I smiled.
They and my students had the courage to dive in the unknown place of their subconscious and let their most generous, sensitive and emotional I to be shared to others.
To be able to witness the power of imagination is a new possibility to renovate my energy.
Imagination keep us fresh, young and most importantly, moving forward.
