YA LEUM. 14 — End of Laos chapter
Almost three weeks have passed since I arrived in the 4000 thousand islands.
Laos showed me the nature I looked for and gave me the best experience possible with its people
I could not feel more grateful for such moments lived in this country. I was ready to close the Laos chapter.
In my last day, Wel came to me to give me food for the way. Later, she accompanied me and Tania to the boat.
There, we said goodbye to each other, wishing strength and care for the way.
On my side, I wished her health and prosperity. Giving a hug of thankfulness and love for having adopted this stranger that stumbled by coincidence, or not, in their way.
The journey of a traveler is an emotional voyage.
When we see the grandiosity of nature, the countless acts of kindness, the exuberant beauty of culture, we, travelers, transform.
Something inside us evolves in a new form of consciousness.
We become softer.
We see further.
We grow to better human beings.
When a traveler moves to a new place, the body moves faster than the mind.
Before we know, we are emerging in a new reality.
It takes a great level of emotional fiber to keep going and not to get attached to the past feelings.
For me, it works to interrupt space and time, between places.
I must take the time to contemplate the experience as an outsider. That brings me a feeling of serenity and sometimes some comprehension of my surrounding.
Since then, each time I arrive in a new town and I step down the bus, I take a sit and look around.
I do not check the map or seek any information. I just stay there, for a moment.
The moment I need to start emerging in the new reality. Just by being there, still, with no goal in mind.
